They may be either produced in developing countries by unskilled labor, or marketed by companies who are unaware of the importance of profit margins. They will be glad to see your dollar today but may be unwilling or unable to fix a problem later, or supply that much needed spare part.

Regular Sailing Yacht Maintenance Tasks - What needs to be done and how often?

All this talk of sanding and varnishing leads me to the thought that there are plenty of other things that need to be checked over/maintained on a regular basis if we're to stay afloat safely and remain healthy on a sailing yacht.

Sailing crew wanted for voyage from the UK to Thailand

Leaving UK end of August and the sailing yacht is a 48ft Oyster just finishing refit in UK . Destination is Thailand via the Red Sea to arrive at the end of October. This is a delivery not a cruise. Cover on boat expenses but no wage.

Three sailors missing from the sailing yacht Kaz 11 found drifting off the Australian east coast. The yacht was found with engines idling, lunch prepared and table set and a laptop switched on.
